Dealing with destructive dogs

We've always had either goldeb labs or german shephareds, and while they're young, these breeds can be a little destructive round the house - not out of termperment, but simply because they need an outlet for all their energy.

The best thing I've found for stopping desctructive dog behaviour is to make sure your dog gets lots of exercise. IT's a very simple technique, but works every time.

When it first started happening with us, we tried all sorts of potions and treatments which we had to apply to the things our Shepherd was eating, but it made no difference what so ever. Then a friend suggested maybe she was getting bored and needed to "run off" some energy. So we made sure she got at least 2 good walks each day, and by the second day, she had completely stopped eating and destriying things - what a relief.

As me and my partner were both out at work each day, we just arranged for a local "dog walking" company to come round to the house each morning, and take her out, and boy, what a difference. She was a lot happier, a lot less destructive and much easier to train as well.

So, a very simple tip, but very effective - and great fun for the dog as well.
